Starting Over: A new year yet?

iiii Ah! Technolgy. Grand plans for 2008 blown away by fierce NM winds, have masked my excuses for not being here. I spend most of my time at www.about-albuqueruqenm.com and learning about internet marketing.  This blog will give me a little more freedom to build something new and to test what I have learned.  Thus you may even see free offers here, to help you progress.

I also hope to provide video content on environmental news, and perhaps my responses to main stream media.  Your comments are welcomed and will be published if in English and not from pharmaceteuical companies or other spam.  Discussions are welcomed.  It’s past my bedtime now so I’ll be back soon.  Please visit me anywhere you can find me often.

Hillary Clinton Rocks!

Think: $35 million = a lots of voter support

While her opponent now snuggles up to oil, coal, and nuke interests to the tune of $400,000, Hillary’s supporters rally around her to vote with dollars, GO HILLARY…and win. The race ain’t over America. Strong women don’t quit.

Volunteer now and help Hillary Win….

Your vote still counts.

Maybe I am not preaching to choir here. Maybe your mind is already made up. (If so go to myitthings.com/photoqueen and get a makeover. At least you’ll have fun)I challenge you to think about these following points:Hillary Clinton is tough and did not cower to media or politics for how many years, maybe as long as you’ve been alive.

Hillary Clinton has fought for the rights and benefits of US citizens for at least 35 years.

Her health plans will cover every American.

She has international respect because she has worked already with many heads of nations.

People are ready to stand beside her and support her.

Obama won’t stand up for women the way Hillary has. Obama does not have the experience. Obama hasn’t even followed what he said he’d do as a senator.
Obama’s health plan excludes adults.

Create a Hillary wave: listen to what she says. Make a list of the type of President you want and decide. If oyu ever thought you wanted a woman as President: now is your chance. Don’t listen to America’s top men corporate media bash Hillary. Look into your heart, and join the other club: she can do the job better! Qualifications count too!

<strong>“It seems to be a rule of wisdom never to rely on memory alone…but to bring the past for judgment into thousand-eyed present, and live ever in the light of a new day.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

The light of the new day may include opening our eyes to the stories we are being told. Strong bold women in our culture are often ignored or discredited, yet they have also still done much for the working man and promoting education.  We could choose a woman president.

Or we could be lulled to sleep my a sweet, less forthright voice promising us what he does not intend to do for our benefit.  Here’s my latest gossip.

My mother was an independent, well, probably still is.  I chose to be a democrat so I could vote in the primaries. Now I often feel like a gossiper.  I tend to vote for someone who has a proven record, and shown common sense.  I also tend to vote for who have earned their power.  I know that being on certain committees will help me have an in road to having an ear to listen to my concerns later.

I believe in being able to know who I am voting for, and who they are.  I first became impressed by Richardson, when he wrote me a letter voicing his honest opinion about an issue we disagreed on. I repspected his honesty.  Communication can start there.

Long ago, when I thought voting for the best of 2 evils was not a choice, a feminist politico came to a woman’s group I belonged to and suggested we vote for Carter. I had been ready to vote for Ford.  He wasn’t doing a bad job, and back then parties did not matter much to me.  She created a decent case for Carter, and he had a better outlook on women and the environment.

I think she realized that we weren’t convinced to vote, so she threw in a local political issue about protecting some trees on a nearby mountain range.  We all went to vote, and I voted for Carter.  A few years later, I voted for a young congressman from Maine because he promised to protect our right to choose he was and is a Republican).  Women and women’s votes matter.

As I have said before I am for Clinton.  So I have been reading a lot about Obama.  Here’s a few things I have learned:  He’s getting a lot more backing from BIG CORPORATE businesses.  Try Wall Street for one.  He’s not in a rush to get out of IRAQ. His health plan does not include ADULTS. (Do you know that there are millions more working mothers and other women who can NOT AFFORD insurance, and by the way women usally still get paid less)  That progressives have a long list of concerns for the senator to work on…

So this clean speaking, sweet man who stands for change is also hiring people like Tom Daschle, a former very big and deep politco to lobby superdelegates for him?  Since he’s not telling me who he is, and how he’s connected, and his voting record shows how he’ll vote as he pleases.  I wonder what else he is hiding?

I hate to vote for candidates who are pretending to be someone they are not. I say, man, you are a WOLF in sheeps clothing who has very sharp teeth.  America, beware.

PS: You too can lobby your superdelegates.  They are all the democrat govenors.  They are the heads of the democrat party, and they are members of congress.  Maybe someone will listen to your views!

Obama or McCain?  Comment please.

Say No to credit cards; and other news

img_2156a.jpgSo much to say!  The vessel is important to remember…

img_0116.jpgAh New Mexico! Arroyo. Now it rains and snow and the sun is poking through clouds. Here in a land where you could have a thunder storm in the middle of a winter snow, almost anything seems possible.

I have a comment that I neither approved or disapproved, and felt that it was probably a comment blast long forgotten by it’s author.

I won’t publish the email, however if you ever come across: ebzzqfybyeqan do not listen to his deceptive logic.  He only wants to sell you another credit card!

He claims his credit is going down the tube.  He is over-extended (easy to do). He is making late payments.  All he can see to do is get another credit card! DON”T DO IT!  Been there and done that way over and I suggest the following:

1) Do not use your credit card. Stop now.

2) Earn more money online, with another job.

3) Drastically cut your spending. Saving $100 by buying, not going to a money, not renting a DVD, not buying much of anything new. Cut out soda, cookies, most deserts, 1/2 of the meat, wherever the food budget will allow while still eating healthy will save you $20-$50 a week. Pay on the bills. Go out to eat only once or twice a month: $100 savings. Don’t even bother going to the malls.  Wear the clothes you have now or buy at consignment or thrift stores.  If you are making a reasonable living, you will save between $100-$400 a month. Pay down that credit card quickly and then start on your next card.

Now if you are smart and start a second job, or encourage a teenager to also start work, you can dedicate much of that extra cash toward the debts.  The teenager can take responsibility for saving and spending on his or her individual needs.  That could save you another $100-$200 a month.

If your spouse is rapidily adding to your bills, separate cards.  The other spouse could also get a second job or work online.  This will create a mutual sense of responsibility.  Agree to a max credit balance.  If you go over that balance 3 months in a row: go back to step one: DO NOT USE the CARD!!!

A friend of mine applied her own ideas to getting out of debt, and now she lives debt free and has excellent credit.  How do you want and choose to live.

Wasn’t the Giants win spectacular?! True I was routing for the Patriots.  However, one can’t whine about such a game.

How about the ads: to review a few go to www.about-albuquerquenm.com and find that blog.  Also for environmental news go to www.myitthings.com/photoqueen .  In addition to my blog there are others who are writing about sustainability too.  Have you been to Squidoo lately? See if you can find Makinart.

Musical America’s 2008 Composer of the Year Writer New Festival Co-commission for Upcoming Season

Internationally renowned Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho makes her Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival debut this 2008 as one of four contemporary composers co-commissioned by Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival to write a new work for the coming season.  Recently named Musical America’s Composer of the Year 2008, Ms. Saariaho is known for her works involving electronics. A beneficiary of Finland’s remarkable musical education system, she is among the few contemporary composers to achieve public acclaim as well as universal critical respect.

Born in Helsinki in 1952, Ms. Saariaho studied at the Sibelius Academy with the pioneering modernist Paavo Heininen, and at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg with Brian Ferneyhough and Klaus Huber.  Ms. Saariaho also studied at the Darmstadt summer courses, and at the IRCAM research institute in Paris, France. Through IRCAM, Ms. Saariaho became allied with the French ‘spectralist” composers, whose techniques are based on computer analysis of the sound-spectrum of individual notes on different instruments.  Since then, the computer has been an important part of her composing technique.

Ms. Saariaho’s works for orchestra and chamber ensembles are numerous, and she has over fifty CDs to her credit, comprised of CDs featuring her works only, as well as recordings on which her works appear. She  has had commissions from such major orchestras as Cleveland, Boston, New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Berlin and Paris, and also has taken part in several multimedia productions, including a full-length ballet, Maa, and a CD-Rom project entitled “Prisma” about her work.  In recent years, Ms. Saariaho has composed for opera.  In 2000 her first opera, L’Amour de loin, premiered at the Salzburg Festival. In 2004, her second opera, Adriana Mater, received its US premiere at the Santa Fe Opera.

Kaija Saariaho’s 2008 Festival work is co-commissioned by the Santa Fe Chamber Music, La Jolla Music Society, and the ensemble Real Quiet.  The new piece (currently untitled) will receive its world premiere on the Music of the Masters Sunday Series at St. Francis on August 3, 2008.  Additional performances of the work will follow later that week on August 4 and 8 (same location and time).  Another of her works, Sept Papillons, will be performed at the Festival on August 1.  She joins a long list of renowned contemporary composers who have been commissioned by the Festival over its 36 year history, including Ned Rorem, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Richard Danielpour and Bright Sheng.

For more information, please visit the Festival’s website at sfcmf.org.

This is exciting news for all of the southwest, and anyone who enjoys visiting New Mexico this summer.  Plan ahead and buy your tickets soon as I’m certain that they’ll sell out quickly.  This is also a terrific cross-generational event where you could have 3-4 generations enjoying the same music.  For more information click the link above.  Visiting the site also will allow you to see the wide spectrum of events planned for this season.  Bravo!

Half empty, full of dreams or overflowing? You choose. Copy this magical vessel now residing in Santa Fe and overlooked by too many.  If it were empty, it would open your mind to the void: the desolate empitiness before creations where no thing reisdes and energy manifests as fast a lightening, the void before the outburst of creative thought, vibration, or imagination.  Copy this picture and use wherever, and please give me Mary MacIntyre credit.

I ought to do be doing biz here, but tonight I need a break and not to worry about future sales, but to instead connect with the wandering reader.  So I cast off my worries, or demands, and exist briefly as I am.  It’s a liberating feeling where outside news floats as dark gray clouds yearning for inspiration and meanwhile suckking on the power schemes of leaders nearly mad.

Here below the mountain, under clear and cold starry sky, I prepare to rest. nearly new moon.  Thirst persistant for new thought forms. Cats wait for dinner number two. I invite you to come again, to drink of the word or visit these other sites:  www.about-albuquerquenm.com , www.makinart.herhangout.com , or www.outrageousdreamsbymary.herhangout.com . Sweet dreams tonight, those who seek and have not found.  Mary MacIntyre

In searching for something else, in the light of day, I find an old unposted blog. If I vaguely remember correctly, I had trouble publishing it that night, but today the veil is lifted. Of course ideally, I need to find the news sources that I had intended to use with this blog.

I’ll do that later, however for now I read about the oil spill in Russia and was curious to see how they would begin cleaning up.  Apparently the thousand or so birds aren’t being rescued yet.  I hope that WWF, or some other American or Euro environmental group can come to the rescue because there is a lot that can be done to save those birds now.  True in the larger picture many companies and governments have larger concerns than birds.  It is sad as we are losing more and more species every year.

Also check out my www.about-albuquerquenm.com blog, Friday or Saturday’s post, intermixed with other videos are a couple of interesting videos on environmental issues too.  They are from www.youtube.com.  So here goes the next part of my experiment today.
